Why is dental care important?
Just like us, pets need regular dental care to help keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Plaque can build up on the teeth and harden into tartar. Over time, this can contribute to inflammation, gum disease, bad breath, discomfort and tooth loss.
Dental disease can also have an impact beyond your pet’s mouth, which is why regular dental checks and preventative care are an important part of their overall health routine.
Signs your pet may have dental disease
You may notice:
- Bad breath
- Yellow or brown tartar on the teeth
- Red, swollen or bleeding gums
- Difficulty chewing
- Dropping food while eating
- Changes in appetite
- Pawing at the mouth
- Loose or missing teeth
- Reluctance to have their mouth touched
However, some pets show very few obvious signs. Regular dental checks can help identify problems before they become more advanced.

- FREE Nurse Dental Checks are available from 1 October to 31 October 2026.
- Dental checks are subject to availability.

- To be eligible for 10% off your pet’s dental procedure, you must book from 1 October to 31 October 2026.
- Dental procedures booked from 1 October to 31 October can be completed up to 30 November 2026.
